== Etiquette ==

House Ingemar shares similar water-based mutations and often likes to have a water tank installed on the bridge for them to navigate within. They're almost entirely aquatic when not having to attend to duties on land, and are rumoured to exist solely upon warp energy alone.

It is a house of grace and manners - some say they're weak and willowy, others say they're aloof and reclusive - regardless, like the water of their namesakes, the house continues on and adapts to whatever is thrown at them.

The house gifts its family, friends and allies with "deed names" for their acts. Said to be an honour or a curse, these names are often poetic sounding and a little tribal in fashion. They are also non-specific enough that nobody outside the house is entirely sure what they mean.

The house is viewed as somewhat aloof and more than a little distant, but loyalty runs strong in them and they have an incredible ability to adapt to new situations.

Gendered titles are fluid in the house, chosen by the individuals and sometimes causing more than a little confusion. The heads of the house don't mind so much, so long as offspring are produced and the house flourishes and grows.

Ladies of the House often follow The Way of The Waves, becoming ritualists that manipulate the weave of the Warp to their own end. They often call upon the elements to enact their rites, and water features quite heavily too, often scented to invoke patterns of thought within those who participate.

Academics, doctors, and more intellectual individuals may also take the title of Lady, though some prefer to be known as Sage.

Lords of the House follow a more militant path; as leaders, tacticians, and soldiers when needed. Lords tend to have more of a martial bent, and the gaze of their third eye is something to be feared.

As naming conventions go, a member of House Ingemar will pull their names from their descendant with a matching Lord or Lady title. In Anahita's case:

out of Noelani by Fjord: Lord Noelani Ingemar lead a unit of Ingemar Lords into battle during the Hypatian Crusade, unleashing a hail of white hot fury from their eyes upon red-eyed, blood-soaked daemons of some horrific power. She calmly stated afterwards that while blood was thicker than water, a tide of Ingemar Lords were more viscous than oil itself. Onlookers were unsure what this meant, but it seemed deep and meaningful and they weren't likely to argue with the blood-soaked noble with blood-lust and piety in all three of her eyes. Lady Fjord Ingemar-Arixea was a diplomat and novice ritualist who paled in comparison but brought much needed genetic diversity to the house.

Tollman has been operating in and out of Arkangel for some time now, having an association with the fortress-port that goes back even before the onset of the Hypatian Crusade. It is widely rumoured that the Lord Captain was once an Inquisitor and has had something of rocky history with the powers that were on Arkangel. Tollman is well known for keeping strange company and for being a collector of stranger artefacts. Tollman has been operating in and out of Arkangel for some time now, having an association with the fortress-port that goes back even before the onset of the Hypatian Crusade. It is widely rumoured that the Lord Captain was once an Inquisitor and has had something of rocky history with the powers that were on Arkangel. Tollman is well known for keeping strange company and for being a collector of stranger artefacts. Known to be an expert in numerous occult matters and disciplines, Lord Captain Tollman is often hired by other Dynasties in order to assist with the resolution of various unconventional problems. Supposedly, Tollman undertakes some sort of obscure duty linked to the protection of Arkangel and is well compensated by the station for such.

House Ingemar shares similar water-based mutations and often likes to have a water tank installed on the bridge for them to navigate within. They're almost entirely aquatic when not having to attend to duties on land, and are rumoured to exist solely upon warp energy alone.

It is a house of grace and manners - some say they're weak and willowy, others say they're aloof and reclusive - regardless, like the water of their namesakes, the house continues on and adapts to whatever is thrown at them.

The house gifts its family, friends and allies with "deed names" for their acts. Said to be an honour or a curse, these names are often poetic sounding and a little tribal in fashion. They are also non-specific enough that nobody outside the house is entirely sure what they mean.

The house is viewed as somewhat aloof and more than a little distant, but loyalty runs strong in them and they have an incredible ability to adapt to new situations.

Gendered titles are fluid in the house, chosen by the individuals and sometimes causing more than a little confusion. The heads of the house don't mind so much, so long as offspring are produced and the house flourishes and grows.

Ladies of the House often follow The Way of The Waves, becoming ritualists that manipulate the weave of the Warp to their own end. They often call upon the elements to enact their rites, and water features quite heavily too, often scented to invoke patterns of thought within those who participate.

Academics, doctors, and more intellectual individuals may also take the title of Lady, though some prefer to be known as Sage.

House Ingemar shares similar water-based mutations and often likes to have a water tank installed on the bridge for them to navigate within. They're almost entirely aquatic when not having to attend to duties on land, and are rumoured to exist solely upon warp energy alone.

It is a house of grace and manners - some say they're weak and willowy, others say they're aloof and reclusive - regardless, like the water of their namesakes, the house continues on and adapts to whatever is thrown at them.

The house gifts its family, friends and allies with "deed names" for their acts. Said to be an honour or a curse, these names are often poetic sounding and a little tribal in fashion. They are also non-specific enough that nobody outside the house is entirely sure what they mean.

The house is viewed as somewhat aloof and more than a little distant, but loyalty runs strong in them and they have an incredible ability to adapt to new situations.

Gendered titles are fluid in the house, chosen by the individuals and sometimes causing more than a little confusion. The heads of the house don't mind so much, so long as offspring are produced and the house flourishes and grows.

Ladies of the House often follow The Way of The Waves, becoming ritualists that manipulate the weave of the Warp to their own end. They often call upon the elements to enact their rites, and water features quite heavily too, often scented to invoke patterns of thought within those who participate.

== Information Known by Arkangel Society ==

Spider belongs to the Arborians, a founding people of the Drifter Fleet, a loose-knit tribe of voidfaring nomads found within the Ruhort Sector and on the edges of Imperial Space. She describes her role amongst her people as 'Shaman', and practises some kind of weird feral-worlder-looking variant of the Imperial Faith.

She's ex-Guard, and has served as an ordinary Trooper, a scout, an officer in a Recon division, and latterly, in a beyond-the-Line special operations search and rescue unit. Today she'd describe herself as a warrior and a hunter - but this seems to be idiosyncratic terminology for much the same skill set.

Oh, and she's also a psyker. She seems to enjoy that people actually forget that, whether because she doesn't look like one stood next to some of the ones that hang out on Arkangel, or because honestly it's one of the least weird things about her - but ''if pushed, she'll happily show off not one, but ''two'' Imperial sanctioning brands. The second is on her chest, and exists because she helpfully asked the guy on the Black Ship wielding the big lump of glowy metal "Not being funny mate, but what happens if my arm gets blowed off?"'' UPDATE: It did. She was smug about her precognitive powers.

Spider has not been quiet about having rediscovered her people's pre-Imperial method of testing psykers, since Arkangel's encounters with people like Skyfall made it clear that such a thing might be needed.

== Medical Peculiarities ==

By now, most of the medics aboard Arkangel are aware of Spider's particular awkwardnesses as a patient, namely:

that Spider is, on the inside, somewhere between thirty and forty percent composed of half-rusted-out bionics whose quality can best be described by imagining the amount of money the Imperial Guard cares to spend on a psyker, then remembering that most of them are over 100 years old and don't get serviced that often

that she has minor brain and extensive nerve damage dating back to her Sanctioning aboard the Black Ships, dulling her ability to feel pain. This is perhaps beneficial in the heat of battle - it avoids pain-induced loss of control of psychic powers, for one thing - but for the medics, it's annoying, as it means she will often fail to realise the severity of her injuries.

Spider is over a hundred years old, and has a lot of stories that tend to come out when she's had a few. She landed on Hera, fought in the Hypatian Crusade, helped avenge the destruction of her planet, and helped her people remain a people through through both the loss of their homeworld, and the subsequent loss of their last remaining leadership... and she's also got a lot of lighter material, largely concerning encounters with strange and exotic critters and/or the consumption of large amounts of intoxicating substances.

Ed'wari is clearly a Drukhari. Or rather he was...
The Dark Eldar is apparently a reformed soul and walks the Path of Ynnead, and has broken the bonds that would tie him to the Dark City of Commoragh for some kind of spiritual journey. Lord Captain Tollman is the Rogue Trader responsible for facilitating the individuals journey as far as Ark-Angel.

The bhéd has shirked his expected spiked armour and wears simple and plain robes, fashioned with some simple iconography to denote that he is "under the protection" of the Tollman Dynasty or rather simply, that he has permission to be there.

It would appear that whatever journey the Drukhari has taken has changed his personality, for better or for worse, and despite this there are those among the Table who do not trust his change. Those of the aeldarri view the Ynnari as extremists and outcasts.

Notably, Ed'wari has conducted a powerful ritual with the aid of the crews of the Table. He has suffered a great many losses due to his faith, and is on a path for revenge against those who took his family and house hold

Ed'wari is clearly a Drukhari. Or rather he was...
The Dark Eldar is apparently a reformed soul and walks the Path of Ynnead, and has broken the bonds that would tie him to the Dark City of Commoragh for some kind of spiritual journey. Lord Captain Tollman is the Rogue Trader responsible for facilitating the individuals journey as far as Ark-Angel.

The bhéd has shirked his expected spiked armour and wears simple and plain black robes, fashioned with some simple iconography to denote that he is "under the protection" of the Tollman Dynasty or rather simply, that he has permission to be there.

It would appear that whatever journey the Drukhari has taken has changed his personality, for better or for worse, and despite this there are those among the Table who do not trust his change. Those of the aeldarri view the Ynnari as extremists and outcasts.

Notably, Ed'wari has conducted a powerful ritual with the aid of the crews of the Table. He has suffered a great many losses due to his faith, and is on a path for revenge against those who took his family and house hold

It is clear from his activity on the station that he likes good drink, good food and takes the occasional trip to the Underhive areas..

Ed'wari is clearly a Drukhari. Or rather he was...
The Dark Eldar is apparently a reformed soul and walks the Path of Ynnead, and has broken the bonds that would tie him to the Dark City of Commoragh for some kind of spiritual journey. Lord Captain Tollman is the Rogue Trader responsible for facilitating the individuals journey as far as Ark-Angel.

The bhéd has shirked his expected spiked armour and wears simple and plain black robes, fashioned with some simple iconography to denote that he is "under the protection" of the Tollman Dynasty or rather simply, that he has permission to be there.

It would appear that whatever journey the Drukhari has taken has changed his personality, for better or for worse, and despite this there are those among the Table who do not trust his change. Those of the aeldarri view the Ynnari as extremists and outcasts.

Notably, Ed'wari has conducted a powerful ritual with the aid of the crews of the Table. He has suffered a great many losses due to his faith, and is on a path for revenge against those who took his family and house hold

It is clear from his activity on the station that he likes good drink, good food and takes the occasional trip to the Underhive areas..

Mac Malvoisin ("It's pronounced 'Mallen'") was Lord Captain Sireena Cerastes' right-hand, or perhaps more accurately left-hand, man. His main tasks seem to be exploration, investigation and reconnaissance, although he has become increasingly resigned to combat being an important part of his mission. He has people skills, for a sufficiently loose value of "people." Mac spent a long career in Departmento Munitorum intelligence doing one shady job after another, and although he may technically no longer be on active service, it's generally understood that Mac still knows some people who know some people.

Mac has a perverse sense of humour and a thirst for new sensations. He's known as a connoisseur of cheap, spicy food. Although he outwardly seems to view the Imperium and its rules with a sort of affectionate cynicism, he has moments of sincere piety and unconscious traditionalism.

When family business called Sireena back to Imperial space, she entrusted the ''Stranger'' and its mission to her first officer. Mac accepted the task dutifully and set about recruiting a new team of agents.

Mac typically takes the field armed with a regulation-issue chainsword, affectionately dubbed "Ol' Chainy," and a highly customised bolt pistol ("Ol' Bolty"), but he also owns a seemingly endless supply of cheap, disposable stub pistols.

Mac was born on the Imperial world of Esrola, a matriarchal planet with a rigid military culture. Both of his parents were officers in the Imperial Guard and came from families with long traditions of service. When they died, he was sent to the Schola Progenium. He passed the entrance exams for the Commissariat and graduated Commissar Cadet School before drifting into the shadowy world of intelligence and diplomacy. Despite having been raised by the Schola and spending most of his life away from Esrola, Mac retains a few customs from his homeworld.

== Information Known by Arkangel Society ==
Through Boiling Clouds of Thunder (known, almost invariably, as simply 'Thunder') was a Feral Worlder. That much was obvious from even the most casual of inspections. The precise nature of his homeworld, and his departure therefrom, was information Thunder did not openly share with Arkangel Society, but based on his claims that he spent a decade as a slave gladiator, it is safe to assume he did not leave willingly, or under good circumstances. He owed his freedom to [[Sireena_Cerastes|Lord Captain Sireena]], who purchased it so that he may serve her as a bodyguard and arch-militant. When it became clear that his services were superfluous to the Cerastes Dynasty's activities in the Stygian Abyss, however, he struck out on his own to serve as a mercenary with any Dynasty willing to hire his blade. Over the course of his independence, he was blessed by the God Emperor with several worthy allies, and together they secured a Warrant and vessel to forge a new Dynasty in their own strange image.

Although most commonly known for his blunt and aggressive fervour in combat (and the obscene slab of adamantium he wields), Thunder also possessed a surprising depth of expertise in the art of medicae. If his proclivity for grand, bombastic tales was to be believed, he gained such expertise from a genetics tome claimed from an Astartes derelict - given the remarkable sophistication of his gene alchemy, there may have been some truth to such claims.

Thunder met his end facing the soulless forces of the Necron, under the command of a heretek Magos. Although the Arkangel Expedition succeeded in preventing the renegade from unleashing a cataclysm upon the Galaxy, the vicious wounds inflicted by the Necrons' abhorrent gauss weapons were too great in both number and potency for even Thunder's prodigious biology to resist. He died on his feet, at the blades of those he held highest and loved the greatest.

== Lineage ==
Thunder's biology was, perhaps, one of the worst-kept secrets on Arkangel. Although appearing outwardly Human, Thunder's innards were a mess of redundant organs, boneplate armour and nerve buffers. Whether he was truly a Mutant, or some kind of unsanctioned Abhuman, was a matter of opinion, but Thunder asserted that his lineage was both stable and a subject of great personal pride upon his homeworld. 'Painkillers', as his genetic variance was locally known, were the culmination of a ten-millennia-long effort to reproduce the sacred biology of an Astartes, utilising only selective breeding and controlled exposure to radiomutagens. Impressive as Thunder's hardiness was, they clearly still have a ways to go yet.

== Information Known by Arkangel Society ==
Through Boiling Clouds of Thunder (known, almost invariably, as simply 'Thunder') is a Feral Worlder. That much is obvious from even the most casual of inspections. The precise nature of his homeworld, and his departure therefrom, is information Thunder has yet to openly share with Arkangel Society, but based on his claims that he spent a decade as a slave gladiator, it is safe to assume he did not leave willingly, or under good circumstances. He owes his freedom to [[Sireena_Cerastes|Lord Captain Sireena]], who purchased it so that he may serve her as a bodyguard and arch-militant. When it became clear that his services were superfluous to the Cerastes Dynasty's activities in the Stygian Abyss, however, he struck out on his own to serve as a mercenary with any Dynasty willing to hire his blade. Over the course of his independence, he has been blessed by the God Emperor with several worthy allies, and together they have secured a Warrant and vessel to forge a new Dynasty in their own strange image.

Although most commonly known for his blunt and aggressive fervour in combat (and the obscene slab of adamantium he wields), Thunder also possesses a surprising depth of expertise in the art of medicae. If his proclivity for grand, bombastic tales is to be believed, he gained such expertise from a genetics tome claimed from an Astartes derelict - given the remarkable sophistication of his gene alchemy, there may be some truth to such claims.

== Lineage ==
Thunder's biology is, perhaps, one of the worst-kept secrets on Arkangel. Although appearing outwardly Human, Thunder's innards are a mess of redundant organs, boneplate armour and nerve buffers. Whether he is truly a Mutant, or some kind of unsanctioned Abhuman, is a matter of opinion, but Thunder asserts that his lineage is both stable and a subject of great personal pride upon his homeworld. 'Painkillers', as his genetic variance is locally known, are the culmination of a ten-millennia-long effort to reproduce the sacred biology of an Astartes, utilising only selective breeding and controlled exposure to radiomutagens. Impressive as Thunder's hardiness is, they clearly still have a ways to go yet.

==Known Associates ==
Thunder boasts that he has fought for every Dynasty upon Arkangel at least once. Nevertheless, there are a select few with whom he has formed a particularly close bond - most notably, the members of the Free Company:

* '''[[Erasmus Bloom]]''' - Encountered during an underdeck tavern brawl aboard Arkangel, Bloom was the first warrior to share in Thunder's vision for a Free Company of mercenaries. The techno-barbarian now relies upon Bloom for his expertise in matters of ritualism and rumour.
* '''[[Lytling Ddraig Aur]]''' - First meeting one another in service to the great Brigari Dynasty, Thunder has always held Lytling in the highest regard for his wisdom, honour and combat prowess. He is honoured to call the peerless knight his battle-brother.
* '''[[Skyfall]]''' - A foundling recovered from a primitive world, there was an obvious similarity between Thunder and Skyfall's circumstances from the start. He makes no secret that he sees greatness in the young psyker, and will do whatever it takes to ensure she achieves that greatness.
* '''The Dancing Spectre''' - An Aeldari Harlequin currently fighting as a member of the Free Company. Thunder clearly admires the Spectre as a master of battle, and as some sort of cultural equivalent to a bard. He values the Spectre's counsel highly, and always has time to share tales with him.
* '''[[Sireena Cerastes]]''' - Thunder owes his freedom to Sireena. Though he no longer serves the Cerastes Dynasty, he will always owe a debt to her that is beyond repayment, and holds for her a deep and abiding affection.

Thunder is a fairly open man, apparently lacking any great degree of subtlety and guile. That being said, he is the subject of several small rumours:

* Thunder practices an excessive degree of hero worship towards the Astartes, greater even than is common in Imperial society.
* Thunder holds an unspecified but violent grievance against Imperial bureaucracy; his normal good humour is invariably withheld for members of the Administratum.
* Although straddling the line between Mutant and Abhuman, Thunder displays no visible sanctioning brand.
* Thunder believes all weapons should be given names; what he calls his own greatsword, however, remains a mystery.
* Thunder is amassing a Khornate berserker cult deep within the Free Company's ship, the ''Second Chance''.
* Thunder is behind the break-up of Maximillion and Skyfall.
