Mac Malvoisin ("It's pronounced 'Mallen'") was Lord Captain Sireena Cerastes' right-hand, or perhaps more accurately left-hand, man. His main tasks seem to be exploration, investigation and reconnaissance, although he has become increasingly resigned to combat being an important part of his mission. He has people skills, for a sufficiently loose value of "people." Mac spent a long career in Departmento Munitorum intelligence doing one shady job after another, and although he may technically no longer be on active service, it's generally understood that Mac still knows some people who know some people.

Mac has a perverse sense of humour and a thirst for new sensations. He's known as a connoisseur of cheap, spicy food. Although he outwardly seems to view the Imperium and its rules with a sort of affectionate cynicism, he has moments of sincere piety and unconscious traditionalism. (One effect of Arkangel's unique social environment is that this attitude, which would be wildly rebellious within the hierarchy of the Guard, makes Mac something of a conservative on Arkangel, or at least a comfortable moderate.)

When family business called Sireena back to Imperial space, she entrusted the ''Stranger'' and its mission to her first officer. Mac accepted the task dutifully and set about recruiting a new team of agents. Since then, he has developed his own style as Lord Captain, a hybrid of Cerastes traditionalism, military pragmatism, and his own idiosyncratic instincts.

Mac typically takes the field armed with a regulation-issue chainsword, affectionately dubbed "Ol' Chainy," and an evilly-glowing xenotech fetter pistol, but he also owns a seemingly endless supply of cheap, disposable stub pistols. In combat against Fuga Animi, he lost the use of his right arm; it remains to be seen how the injury will affect him.

Mac was born on the Imperial world of Esrola, a matriarchal planet with a rigid military culture. Both of his parents were officers in the Imperial Guard and came from families with long traditions of service. When they died, he was sent to the Schola Progenium. He passed the entrance exams for the Commissariat and graduated Commissar Cadet School before drifting into the shadowy world of intelligence and diplomacy. Despite having been raised by the Schola and spending most of his life away from Esrola, Mac retains a few customs from his homeworld.

Mac Malvoisin ("It's pronounced 'Mallen'") was Lord Captain Sireena Cerastes' right-hand, or perhaps more accurately left-hand, man. His main tasks seem to be exploration, investigation and reconnaissance, although he has become increasingly resigned to combat being an important part of his mission. He has people skills, for a sufficiently loose value of "people." Mac spent a long career in Departmento Munitorum intelligence doing one shady job after another, and although he may technically no longer be on active service, it's generally understood that Mac still knows some people who know some people.

Mac has a perverse sense of humour and a thirst for new sensations. He's known as a connoisseur of cheap, spicy food. Although he outwardly seems to view the Imperium and its rules with a sort of affectionate cynicism, he has moments of sincere piety and unconscious traditionalism. (One effect of Arkangel's unique social environment is that this attitude, which would be wildly rebellious within the hierarchy of the Guard, makes Mac something of a conservative on Arkangel, or at least a comfortable moderate.)

When family business called Sireena back to Imperial space, she entrusted the ''Stranger'' and its mission to her first officer. Mac accepted the task dutifully and set about recruiting a new team of agents. Since then, he has developed his own style as Lord Captain, a hybrid of Cerastes traditionalism, military pragmatism, and his own idiosyncratic instincts.

Mac typically takes the field armed with a regulation-issue chainsword, affectionately dubbed "Ol' Chainy," and an evilly-glowing xenotech fetter pistol, but he also owns a seemingly endless supply of cheap, disposable stub pistols. In combat against Fuga Animi, he lost the use of his right arm; it remains to be seen how the injury will affect him.

Mac was born on the Imperial world of Esrola, a matriarchal planet with a rigid military culture. Both of his parents were officers in the Imperial Guard and came from families with long traditions of service. When they died, he was sent to the Schola Progenium. He passed the entrance exams for the Commissariat and graduated Commissar Cadet School before drifting into the shadowy world of intelligence and diplomacy. Despite having been raised by the Schola and spending most of his life away from Esrola, Mac retains a few customs from his homeworld.

Spider belongs to the Arborians, a loose-knit collection of voidfaring nomadic warrior tribes found within the Ruhort Sector and on the edges of Imperial Space. The Arborians and their sister tribes make up the Drifter Fleet, an eclectic spacebourne collective of peoples and individuals faithful to the Imperium, but without a place within it to call home. She describes her role amongst her people as 'Shaman', although it's far from immediately clear what that means.

She's ex-Guard, and has served as an ordinary Trooper, a scout, an officer in a Recon division, and in a beyond-the-Line special operations search and rescue unit. Today she'd describe herself as a warrior and a hunter, which amounts to the same skill set. Oh, and she's also a psyker. She seems to enjoy that people actually forget that, whether because she doesn't look like one stood next to some of the psykers you get on Arkangel, or because honestly it's one of the least weird things about her. In general, she gives the impression of taking the horrors she's witnessed and experienced in the Imperium with a cheerful or at least sanguine acceptance of their necessity, and of being deeply faithful in her particular colourful fashion.

Prior to events aboard the Ingamar vessel, those in the know might have described Spider's status within the Drifter Fleet as foremost among the leaders that it did not, technically speaking, have.

Taking her unexpected ascencion to the rank of Rogue Trader as a sign of the Big Man's favour, Spider Daisy called upon the Fleet to follow her, and in so doing, claimed leadership of the Drifter Fleet. This is a station no-one has held since Shane-O made a similar call to follow him into the void. The Last Governor, along with over half the Arborian people, was never seen again.

In the fifty years since, Arboria has made back its numbers - but it never regained its position as the unquestionable majority of and driving force within the Drifter Fleet. It became a patchwork of peoples, held together by, but never officially ''ruled'' by the network of shamans, of whom Spider Daisy is the most senior in more ways than one.

The Drifters on this side of the Maw have come to heel, with a fervent few pledging to carry the message back with the Celestus and return with the rest of the flock.

By now, most of the medics aboard Arkangel are aware of Spider's particular awkwardnesses as a patient, namely:

that Spider is, on the inside, somewhere between thirty and forty percent composed of half-rusted-out bionics whose quality can best be described by imagining the amount of money the Imperial Guard cares to spend on a psyker, then remembering that most of them are over 100 years old and don't get serviced that often

that she has minor brain and extensive nerve damage dating back to her Sanctioning aboard the Black Ships, dulling her ability to feel pain. This is perhaps beneficial in the heat of battle - it avoids pain-induced loss of control of psychic powers, for one thing - but for the medics, it's annoying, as it means she will often fail to realise the severity of her injuries.

== Information Known by Arkangel Society ==

Born on a heavily industrialised imperial world he was brought to the black ships at a you age. As soon as he was free he was recruited as a psyker specialist to a mercenary company serving as an anti psyker assassin.

He left not long after the company was hired by Lord Captain Alexander Winter Alexander. Seeing the opportunity for new freedoms, a chance to see things no one else could and operate under the protection of an imperial warrant he joined his crew. It did not take long for him to descend into a life of decadence and over indulgence.

Currently on Arkangel he is openly critical of the dockworkers union, if they want a say at the table they should earn a warrant like the rest of us, everyone needs to accept their place. He also has little respect for the University, stupid children playing with things they have no clue about.

Maximillion was not originally in the line of succession for the Alexander Warrant. No one is quite sure how he came by the Alexander but several notable administratum officials have verified the validity of his claim and there has so far been no complaints from Seraph where the Dynasties main holdings are.

Tollman has been operating in and out of Arkangel for some time now, having an association with the fortress-port that goes back even before the onset of the Hypatian Crusade. Mac Malvoisin ("It's pronounced 'Mallen'") was Lord Captain Sireena Cerastes' right-hand, or perhaps more accurately left-hand, man. His main tasks seem to be exploration, investigation and reconnaissance, although he has become increasingly resigned to combat being an important part of his mission. He has people skills, for a sufficiently loose value of "people." Mac spent a long career in Departmento Munitorum intelligence doing one shady job after another, and although he may technically no longer be on active service, it's generally understood that Mac still knows some people who know some people.

Mac has a perverse sense of humour and a thirst for new sensations. He's known as a connoisseur of cheap, spicy food. Although he outwardly seems to view the Imperium and its rules with a sort of affectionate cynicism, he has moments of sincere piety and unconscious traditionalism. (One effect of Arkangel's unique social environment is that this attitude, which would be wildly rebellious within the hierarchy of the Guard, makes Mac something of a conservative on Arkangel, or at least a comfortable moderate.)

When family business called Sireena back to Imperial space, she entrusted the ''Stranger'' and its mission to her first officer. Mac accepted the task dutifully and set about recruiting a new team of agents.

Mac typically takes the field armed with a regulation-issue chainsword, affectionately dubbed "Ol' Chainy," and an evilly-glowing xenotech fetter pistol, but he also owns a seemingly endless supply of cheap, disposable stub pistols.

Mac was born on the Imperial world of Esrola, a matriarchal planet with a rigid military culture. Both of his parents were officers in the Imperial Guard and came from families with long traditions of service. When they died, he was sent to the Schola Progenium. He passed the entrance exams for the Commissariat and graduated Commissar Cadet School before drifting into the shadowy world of intelligence and diplomacy. Despite having been raised by the Schola and spending most of his life away from Esrola, Mac retains a few customs from his homeworld.
