Esrola is an Imperial world with a strong military tradition. Located in Loki Sector in the Segmentum Tempestus, Esrola is close to the frontier with the ork-controlled Charadon region, and its regiments, particularly the famed Golden Lancer Rough Rider division, played an important role in the conflict with Waaaa-Snagrod. Esrolan culture is hierarchical, militaristic, pious and traditionalistic. An entrenched class of wealthy landowners provides both the planetary aristocracy and the officer corps. Traditionally, Esrola is a matriarchal culture, and although legal equality has been the rule for centuries, these traditions still play an important role in Esrolan attitudes.<br />
